The Art of the Perfect Cookie: A Hands-on Sensory Baking Workshop with Flavie Denoyelle

  • Subtle Senses 1820 Hyperion Avenue Los Angeles, CA, 90027 United States (map)

$110

Join pastry chef Flavie Denoyelle for a cozy, hands-on workshop celebrating one of life's simplest pleasures: a freshly baked cookie.

Together, we'll explore the complete cookie-making process, from understanding ingredients and mixing dough to creating personalized flavor combinations. Guests will be invited to engage all of their senses throughout the experience—feeling the softness of butter, folding ingredients by hand, exploring textures, and shaping their own cookie dough.

Cooking is one of the creative practices that allows us to reconnect with touch. Working with our hands helps us slow down, become present, and build a deeper relationship with the ingredients we use. Through mixing, shaping, and tasting, guests will experience how texture and touch play an essential role in creating delicious food.

Each participant will create their own signature cookie flavor using a curated selection of toppings and mix-ins, including:
White and semisweet chocolate chips
Homemade jams (blueberry, strawberry, raspberry)
Peanut butter, black sesame paste, honey, and homemade pralinés (pecan, hazelnut, pistachio)
Matcha and cacao powders
Macadamia nuts, hazelnuts, and coconut flakes
Raisins, candied ginger, and dried cherries
Graham crackers, peanut butter cups, brittles, and more
Guests will shape and portion their cookies into ready-to-bake dough balls to take home, freeze, and enjoy whenever they want!

Throughout the workshop, participants will also enjoy a tasting spread of freshly baked cookies, cakes, and muffins, alongside coffee and tea.
